In commemoration of Borsellino, Gianni Alemanno's "Independence Movement" is organizing a mass

The Independence Movement founded by Gianni Alemanno, the "Fermare La Guerra" Association, and the "Identità Siciliana" movement will reaffirm their commitment to fighting all forms of mafia, commemorating with the powerful force of prayer the martyrdom of Judge Paolo Borsellino and his bodyguards. This Saturday, June 19, at 6:00 p.m., Palermo will hold a rally at the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, located on Via della Ferrovia in San Lorenzo.
The Independence Movement also wanted to pay tribute to the judge who, a few days before his death, speaking at a conference organized at the University of Palermo, stated that "I had somehow taken his death into account." He weighed every word, constantly twirling his lighter in his hands. His gaze cast downward, his constant pauses. And he went on to attack the institutions and a section of the judiciary "which is perhaps more to blame than anyone else," the State that let his childhood friend and colleague "die professionally, without anyone noticing. I denounced what was happening and for doing so I risked extremely serious consequences, but they were necessary, because by Falcone's death everyone should have already known. The pool had to die in front of the entire country, not in silence."
